But it requires conviction, courage, and our community. We are a community of Democrats located in Davidson, North Carolina.
We believe that politics should be personal, social, and uplifting. Breaking away from an angry, reactive politics, we strive to be aspirational, not adversarial. Everyone within the boundary of our two precincts (Precincts 127 and 206) is welcome and valued. We focus on gatherings and activities: occasions when we can meet together, hear speakers, commiserate with one another, and make new friends. In election season, we do everything possible to assist Democratic candidates, whether they are running for municipal, county, state, or federal office. Outside of election season, we focus on issues of special concern for Democrats: affordable housing, environmental justice, education, and more.
Since the Trump administration took office in January 2025, we find ourselves with an additional set of priorities: defending vulnerable people: the immigrant community, the LGBTQ community, and folks in danger of losing Medicaid. We also make the habit of demonstrating visibly, physically, and publicly whenever possible. We learn about and call out bad behavior when it comes to legislating and gerrymandering (the latter especially). Our long-term goal is to chip away at Republican majorities in the State House and Senate. We will do everything possible to help retake a Democratic majority on the NC Supreme Court in 2028, allowing the Court to mandate fair legislative maps after the 2030 census.
No matter how little time you have, there are ways to make a difference.

The Dems of Davidson host several community events every month like meetings, protests, and socials.
